Federer And Nadal Advance At Indian Wells

Roger Federer showed a master class performance in his first match at Indian Wells master.  He showed that he is the man to beat at this tournament.  He defeated Istomin by 6-2 6-3.  He started very strongly as it was expected and broke Istomin serve in the very first game of the match.  After that his serve was very impressive, He landed 72% of his first serves in, and lost only one point on his first serve.  And lost only three points on his second serve.  His forehand was impressive, he fired a lot of winner from his forehand down the line.  He commited only 9 unforced errors.  His return game was also impressive, he converted 4 out of  7 break points and gave no chance to Istomin to come back in the match.  In the second set when Istomin was serving to stay in the match, Federer broke his serve by a bellistring volley and get the victory.    This comprehensive victory shows that he is very much determined to show the tennis world that he has so much gas left in the tank that he can win any tournament at any stage.  Although his path towards the victory is not easy, because he may have to face Nadal in the quarterfinals.  But if he countinue his such a high level performance, then he will surely win this tournment.  In the third round he will face Dodig, which was not expected because won against Bennetau by 6-4 6-2.
Rafael Nadal made first hard court victory of the season against home favourite Ryan Harrison.  He defeated him by 7-6 6-2.  In the first set Nadal could not show his master class performance, yet he took the tie break break to win the first set.  In this set both players exchange breaks of serve.  Rafael Nadal landed 71% of first serves in with just one ace.  He saved 4 out of 5 break points which was the key.  And converted 3 out 7 break point opportunities.  In the second set he took countrol of the match and broken Harrison serve twice to seal his first victory on hard courts since last year's Miami withdrawl.
