Federer To Face Tsonga In French Open 2013 Quarters

Roger Federer have to face in form and home favourite French no 1 Jo Wilfried Tsonga.  He is in the great form and showing a splendid tennis so far.  Tsonga has won all the mathces that he played in straight sets.  And he had to face only one tie break in the second round against Niemen.  After that he cruised to quarters.    That's why he is great threat to Federer.

Tsonga had reached the same spot last year, where he faced Djokovic and was two set to love up.  And he had multiple match points but could not convert any one of them.  He always teased Federer at every level.  He beat Federer in Wimbledon 2011 quarterfinals, when he was two sets to love down.  Their last meeting was at 2013 Australian Open, in which Federer came victorious  after a tough competition in five thrilling sets by 7-6(4) 4-6 7-6(4) 3-6 6-3.  But now Federer has to face not only Tsonga but also French crowd.  Which will be very tricky.

Federer leads head to head series by 9-4.  In this includes on walkover in favour of Tsonga at Doha when Federer pulled out of tournament due to back injury.  In grandslam competitions Federer is 3-1 ahead.  Federer won the only meeting on clay at Rome 2011 second round.  At start of French open Federer won all the matches without facing any serious trouble but in 4th round match against Simon he was 2 sets to 1 down..  But he survives, if Tsonga gets the same chance as Simon did, then it would be almost impossible for Federer to come up.

So Federer has to handle Tsonga right from the start and should give no chance to have room in the match.  Otherwise problems are waiting for Federer and the outcome will not be different from Wimbledon 2011 quarterfinal.
